What We Believe

Introduction

By the foresight of our Heavenly Father many Christians of Evangelical faith were able to come from the countries of the former Soviet Union into United States of America. Being in the new conditions we realize that Holy Spirit will continue to edify us into one whole Church of Christ as “God causes it to grow”. His Universal Church will find its expression in the local Slavic churches through church services, fellowship, brotherhood unity, demonstrations of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, union, - Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith, - is created solely for the purpose of church services, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ more effectively all over the world, and also to facilitate and assist in preparation of believers for the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We consider necessary to cooperate with Christians of Evangelical teachings of United States of America and intend to do that.

God, our heavenly Father, has sent into the world His only Begotten Son Lord Jesus Christ, who has redeemed and saved fallen man with His precious blood, founded and built His Church on the foundations of the teachings of the Apostles and prophets, having Jesus Christ himself as a Cornerstone (Eph. 2:20); by saying “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”. We have no right to add anything, neither deduct anything to that which is written in the Bible (Rev. 22:18). Based on all of that this statute of Slavic Gospel Church has been developed.

Core Principles of Faith

We believe and profess One True God, God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; He is Sovereign God, creator of the universe (Exodus 3:14; Deut. 6:4; Is. 43:10-11; Mark 12:29)

We believe that Bible – is true Word of God, given to mankind by the inspiration of God, - books of Scriptures of the Old and New Testament (2 Tim. 3:16)

We believe that mankind was created in Gods own image and Gods own likeness (Gen. 1:27)

We believe and profess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Messiah that came to this world through virgin inception by the Holy Spirit, He was crucified and died for the sins of the whole world and He has risen on the third day according to the Scriptures (Is. 53:4; Mat. 1:18-25; Mat. 16:16-17; 1 Cor. 15:3-4)

We believe in the personal salvation through confession of sins, grace of God and His blood shed on the cross (Acts 4:12; 1 John 1:9; Rom. 3:23-25)

We believe that water baptism with the full immersion into the water – is the commandment of Christ for all that believe, to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Acts 10:47-48; Rom. 6:3-4)

We believe in the resurrection and eternal life for the believers and eternal condemnation for this who do not accept Jesus as their personal Saviour (1 Thes. 4:16-17; 2 Cor. 5:1,10; 1 Thes. 5:9; Rev. 20:15)

We believe in baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues.
